Clinical Nutrition

Nutrition is the cornerstone of Naturopathic Medicine or Natural Medicine.  Examination of the diet for sensitivities, allergies, and/or deficiencies, and minimizing the intake of harmful or weakening foods or substances is the basis for restoring health.  Vitamins, minerals, nutrients, enzymes and diet are used to strengthen the body’s ability to heal, regulate, rebuild and function at a healthy level.

Lifestyle Counseling

Stress, mental attitudes and emotional states can be important elements in healing and disease. Nauropathic Doctors are trained in different counselingand stress management techniques. In addition, naturopaths attend to environmental and lifestyle factors that affect health.

Botanical Medicine

Plants have been used as medicine for as long as people have been getting sick.  Plants possess energetic qualities and chemicals that can both support the bodies ability to heal and directly influence biochemistry.  Naturopathic Doctors are adept at combining centuries of traditional knowledge with the most up to date scientific research on plant medicine.

Homeopathy is a system of natural medicine that uses dilutions of natural substances made from plants, animals, and minerals to stimulate the individuals’ innate healing ability and/or to remove blockages to healing.  It was founded well over 200 years ago and is now used widely in Europe and India.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle form of bodywork which can promote relaxation and release of restrictions in the body. It is used to evaluate and enhance the functioning of the craniosacral system which consists of the layers of connective tissue (fascia) surrounding the brain and spinal cord, the bones of the skull and sacrum, and the cerebrospinal fluid which moves rhythmically through these structures. With light touch, the practitioner can feel for changes or blockages in the flow of the craniosacral rhythm throughout the body and aid in its release. CST can help with headaches, insomnia, musculoskeletal pain, TMJ, anxiety, fatigue, fibromyalgie, and many other conditions.

Seasonal detoxification and fasting has been a regular part of traditional cultures from around the world. Naturopathic Medicine looks to the functioning of the digestive system as a reflection of vitality in the body. In today’s modern world, through our dietary choices, we often overload our bodies with excessive calories and food additives which do not promote our wellbeing. Temporarily changing our eating patterns, incorporating specific foods and nutrients, and stimulating the various organs of elimination are used to increase health. Specific programs are designed when working with patients who have serious health concerns, as well as, those who wish to learn how to make it a part of their lifestyle.
